Book pre-launch: A FORTUNE MOST FATAL by Jess Bull
We were delighted to be invited to the elegant pre-launch for A FORTUNE MOST FATAL by Jess Bull, the much-anticipated sequel to MISS AUSTEN INVESTIGATES: THE HAPLESS MILLINER, which publishes on March 27th. The team and other guests proceeded in our best outfits to Henry’s Townhouse in Marylebone, which was once home to Jane Austen’s favourite brother, Henry, and his wife, Eliza. Jess looked magnificent in full regency attire and whilst we enjoyed sparkling wine and canapes in Jane’s Reading Room, every guest had their silhouette expertly cut by Silhouette Sarah and presented to them in a frame!
Henry’s Townhouse is every Austen fan’s dream, full of beautiful period features, so that you feel that you’ve literally stepped back into the regency era. We were honoured to celebrate Jess’s publication in 2025, which is also the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth. Later, the guests moved upstairs to The Carriage Snug, where Jess donned white gloves and showed us the gorgeously illustrated images from first editions of Austen’s work. This peaceful, intimate evening concluded with the guests enjoying chocolate bonbons, while Jess signed copies of A FORTUNE MOST FATAL.
