ME Recommends: Cosy Autumn Reads

After a very grey summer, we’re looking forward to guiltlessly layering on our knitwear, popping on the kettle, and camping out on the sofa with a great book. Here’s what the Mushens Entertainment team are reading this autumn…

Juliet recommends…

I recently read and loved Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. It’s an epic family saga spanning countries and multiple generations, and it’s the perfect book to spend an entire weekend on the couch with, tucked under a blanket with several cups of tea!

Silé recommends…

My go-to is Shakespeare Not Stirred – a cocktail recipe book with delightful facts about Shakespearean characters and plays. I love it for the autumn because you can make one of the cocktails or finger foods and then curl up and read the inspiration behind the recipes as you enjoy what you’ve just made!

Liza recommends…

I’m currently rereading Queen Of Fashion by Caroline Weber and plotting how many Marie-Antoinette inspired capes and clothing I can layer on myself during the fall and winter months. Does that count as cosy?

Kiya recommends…

Autumn is the best season of the year, and I often find myself reaching for old favourites when I want something cosy! There’s no better time of year to read The Secret History by Donna Tartt, but I’ve recently been obsessed with - and pushing on everyone I know - Mizuki Tsujimura’s Lonely Castle in the Mirror. It’s the perfect book to shut yourself away with (and cry over!) for a while.
