Rights

  • DRAGONFALL, the first in a new trilogy from Sunday Times Bestselling author Laura Lam, has sold at auction in the UK to Molly Powell at Hodder in a six-figure deal. North American rights have been acquired by Leah Spann at DAW. There will be a simultaneous publication between the two in May 2023. Long ago, humans betrayed dragons, stealing their magic and banishing them to a dying world. Centuries later, their descendants worship dragons as gods. But the "gods" remember, and they do not forgive. Full material will be available this fall. Rights: Hodder (UK – Molly Powell), and DAW (US). Pub date: May 2023. 

  • Hester Musson’s historical debut, THE BEHOLDERS, has sold to Minerva in Finland. Rights: 4th Estate (UK – Katie Bowden), Minerva, (Finland), and Versatil (Spain). Pub date: TBC 2024.

  • Estonian rights to Louise O’Neill’s #1 Irish Bestselling novel, IDOL, have gone to Kirjastus. Rights: Transworld (UK – Frankie Gray), Kirjastus (Estonia), and Eksmo (Russia). Publication date: Summer 2022.

  • Italian audio rights to Elodie Harper’s THE WOLF DEN have sold to Emons. Rights stand at: Head of Zeus (UK), Sterling Publishing (US), Dar Molhimon (Arabic), Ciela Norma (Bulgaria), Vorto (Croatia), Leda (Czech), Bazar (Finland), Calmann Levy (France), Kaktos (Greece), Fazi (Italy), House of Books (Netherlands), Bertrand (Portugal), Trei (Romania), Mann, Ivanov and Ferber (Russia), Ikar (Slovakia), HKZ (Slovenia), Planeta MX (Spain), Ithaki (Turkey). Pub date: 13 May 2021; 12 May 2022.

  • Brazilian rights to TWELVE SECRETS by Robert Gold have sold to Faro. Rights: Sphere (UK – Rosanna Forte), Faro (Brazil), Znanje (Croatia), Alpress (Czech), Lafon (France), Goldmann (Germany), Longanesi (Italy), Niculescu (Romania), and HKZ (Slovenia). Pub date: 3 March 2022.

  • Polish rights to THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE and THE BULLET THAT MISSED have sold to Agora. Greek rights to THE BULLET THAT MISSED sold to Psichogios. As there are a lot of foreign rights, they can all be found here. Publication date: 16th September 2021.

  • Saara El-Arifi’s debut fantasy novel, THE FINAL STRIFE has debuted at number 4 on the Sunday Times Bestselling hardback list. We are also in love with The Daily Mail’s quote which calls it a, ‘A compelling, charming, sexy fantasy debut, whose controlled fury sets it apart.’

  • Claire Douglas’ Schönes Mädchen (the German language edition of JUST LIKE THE OTHER GIRLS) is the #3 bestselling paperback fiction book in Germany, according to this week’s Spiegel Paperback Bestseller list.

  • Amy McCulloch’s debut adult novel BREATHLESS has charted at #8 on the Canadian Fiction Bestseller list.

  • Elodie Harper and Jennifer Saint have been longlisted for the prestigious Goldsboro Glass Bell Award 2022. THE WOLF DEN and ARIADNE join the list of twelve novels selected. Now in its sixth year, the Glass Bell Award celebrates the best storytelling across contemporary fiction, regardless of genre.

  • Richard Osman’s THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE and THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB continue to hold strong in the Sunday Times paperback Bestsellers chart! Both have rocketed back into the top 10 following the publication of THE MAN WHO DIED TWICE in May. We look forward to THE BULLET THAT MISSED being published this September!

7th July: Ross Armstrong’s THE GETAWAY follows seven guest on one private island on holiday – and one killer. It is out in paperback from HQ.

7th July: Sussie Anie’s debut, TO FILL A YELLOW HOUSE is a story of community, friendship and the power of creativity and connection. It is out in hardback from Phoenix (Orion).

14th July: RECLAIMING by Yewande Biala consists of interlinked essays covering a wide breadth of topics from struggling with your body image and mental health to navigating social media and dating apps without damaging your self-esteem. It is out in hardback from Coronet (Hodder).

21st July: THE MURDER OF GRAHAM CATTON is the gripping second novel from Katie Lowe and follows what happens when a true-crime podcast investigates a murder and questions if the right man is behind bars. Out in paperback from HarperCollins.

21st July: Sonia Velton’s debut thriller, THE IMAGE OF HER follows two strangers brought together by two traumatic events and cruel twists of fate that happen thousands of miles apart. Out in paperback from Quercus.
