Books in the Media

Our wonderful authors have received lots of great press recently!

  • Saara El-Arifi’s FAEBOUND was featured in The Bookseller’s SFF category highlights.

  • Krystle Zara Appiah’s ROOTLESS was included in NPR’s annual ‘Books We Love’ roundup.

  • Historia Magazine have put together a list of historical book recommendations for Christmas 2023 from 13 well-loved authors. Elizabeth Fremantle has recommended Elodie Harper’s THE TEMPLE OF FORTUNA and Anna Mazzola’s THE HOUSE OF WHISPERS! Hazel Gaynor also recommends THE HOUSE OF WHISPERS. Elodie Harper offered up her own suggestions, including Laura Purcell’s THE WHIISPERING MUSE, as did Anna Mazzola who recommended THE WINTER SPIRITS, with stories from Laura Purcell and Susan Stokes-Chapman.

  • Richard Osman’s THE LAST DEVIL TO DIE has been chosen for the final round of the Goodreads Choice Awards in the mystery and thriller category! Winners will be announced on 7th December.

  • Crime Monthly have included THE WINTER SPIRITS in their December crime books round-up.

  • Paste Magazine named THE BONE SHARD WAR and GODKILLER as two of their best fantasy books of 2023! On Andrea Stewart’s BONE SHARD WAR, they write: “The ending of The Bone Shard War is bittersweet, to be sure, but it’s also one that feels perfectly in tune with the tone this series has struck from the beginning. A story of hope, sacrifice, and growth, it gives no character an ending they haven’t earned, and promises that we’ll somehow be leaving this world better than we initially found it. If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.” On Hannah Kaner’s GODKILLER they then write, “Everything about Godkiller is thoroughly engrossing from its grim, low fantasy worldbuilding to its assortment of entertaining and morally gray characters. You’ll probably read it in a single sitting, and be happy to know a sequel is coming next year.”

  • Woman Magazine included Elodie Harper’s THE TEMPLE OF FORTUNA in their book pages: Don't miss this riveting conclusion to the historical Wolf Den series”.

  • Nick Rennison reviewed Anna Mazzola’s THE HOUSE OF WHISPERS for the Sunday Times, calling the novel “absorbing” and “skilfully constructed”.

  • Nina Pottell has chosen Pim Wangtechawat’s THE MOON REPRESENTS MY HEART as one of Prima Magazine’s books of the year! Nina writes that Pim’s debut is “full of beautiful characters and written with such lovely rhythm and eloquence.”
