Books in the Media

Check out which of our authors have been featured in the press this week…

THE REVELS by Stacey Thomas will be included in the August issue of Prima in an article with ‘3 of the Best New Historical Fiction Novels’! Nina Pottell calls it “darkly atmospheric”.

In a fascinating piece for Fantasy Hive, Jane Hennigan discusses the heroines of dystopian fiction. She writes: “The novels discussed here all highlight some of the toxicity which shot through my experience learning what it meant to be a woman. They reflect a familiar and insidious power imbalance – from motherhood to office dynamics to identifying and navigating the male gaze. Some of the women here are fighting regimes designed to control their womanhood – others are in the wrong place at the right time, however, when faced with oppression, they all choose rebellion. Each one resisting the constraints into which they were born.”

The Bookseller has featured THE WINTER SPIRITS, a spine tingling short story collection with contributions from Laura Purcell and Susan Stokes-Chapman, in their Autumn fiction preview:
