Books in the Media

The past week saw lots of great press for our authors...

Susan Stokes-Chapman’s PANDORA saw some brilliant reviews in the week of its US paperback publication. It was reviewed by Judith Reveal for the New York Journal of Books who concludes that “Stokes-Chapman’s writing is strong; her story travels a direct line from beginning to end with no distractions or excessive backstory.”

Novels Alive published a fabulous 4.5 star review of PANDORA: “Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman is a rambling tale brimming with vivid descriptions of the seamier side of life in Georgian London and replete with an abundance of unsavory sensory details. The characters are rich with impressive detail and powerfully force the reader to choose sides—good versus evil, right versus wrong, and love versus hate. Be ready. Pandora, with its irresistible mystery and pulsing intrigue, is sure to lure you in.”

In the week of GODKILLER’S hardback publication, it received lots of positive press. The Financial Times has said that “Kaner’s debut offers all the bloodshed, demons and magic a fantasy fan could want, while championing contemporary values such an inclusivity”.

Grimdark magazine included Hannah Kaner in their Rising Stars of 2023 and in their review of GODKILLER, called it “Fascinating and engaging […] extremely well-written”.

GODKILLER was reviewed by The Fantasy Hive who named it “a dark, gritty and highly immersive debut”.

In a review of new Sci-Fi and Fantasy titles, The Daily Mail refers to GODKILLER as “A wonderful, gritty, explosively violent and beautifully realised debut built around a mismatched trio’s classic quest.”

It was also mentioned in the Independent as one of their ‘Big Books for 2023’ and Glamour, where it’s described as “a mythical tale that is sweeping and epic in scale”.
