Books in the Media

The past week saw lots of our amazing authors in the media...

It’s been a brilliant week for THE FINAL STRIFE which has been featured on the Oprah Daily's best of fantasy list! Saara El-Arifi’s THE FINAL STRIFE has also been ranked as one of Amazon’s Best SFF Books of the Year!

For Oprah Daily, Sam Mckenzie writes: “this was a spectacular year for fantasy, a genre that has steadily risen in prestige and importance over the decades. Once mainly accessible to niche literary fans, fantasy now occupies the minds and captures the imaginations of followers of every type of medium.” We couldn’t agree more!

In The Bookseller, Elle Machray has been named one of HarperCollins’ alumni successes from its Author Academy for writers from underrepresented Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. Since graduating from the course, Elle became the first alumni to announce a book deal when HarperNorth signed her to a two-book deal. Elle has said: “The author academy helped me believe I was good enough to become a published author. Without this experience I wouldn’t have had the confidence to continue working on and eventually submitting my manuscript. It’s been an incredible journey so far and I’m so excited to see all the future works that come out of the academy. Thank you to everyone involved!”

The Sunday Times has named THE FLAMES as one of their top 14 historical fiction books of 2022! It places alongside Emma Donoghue’s Haven and Robert Harris’ Act of Oblivion.

Huge congratulations to all of our authors featured in the press this week!
