Books in the Media

The past week saw lots of great press for our authors...

Elvin Mensah’s SMALL JOYS was reviewed by Publishers Weekly who have declared his debut novel “an auspicious start”.

In their review of THE BONE SHARD WAR, Andrea Stewart’s final instalment in the DROWNING EMPIRE TRILOGY, Publishers Weekly write that “Stewart does a masterful job juggling conflict and intrigue on multiple fronts, and she makes the fight scenes especially riveting with subtle character work interspersed throughout the action. This un-put-downable epic sends the series out with a bang.”

THE FLAMES by Sophie Haydock was named a “stunning debut” by Publishers Weekly. They also write that “Haydock’s superb research captures the era’s rich atmosphere. This assured effort will leave readers eager to see more from Haydock.”

THE WHISPERING MUSE will be featured in the book pages of Good Housekeeping’s March issue. In the issue they call Laura Purcell “the queen of gothic” chillers!

Good Reading Magazine in Australia describes THE WHISPERING MUSE as a “menacing macabre tale”. They sum up: “This is a tale of obsession and power, beautifully written, exquisitely menacing and utterly gripping. The author has an obvious talent for gothic fiction, at no time did the narrative even teeter on the edge of unbelievable.”
