Avon has acquired a further thriller from Debbie Howells, author of The Vow.

Editor Lucy Frederick acquired world English-language rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment, to publish in January 2023. The title is not yet confirmed. The Vow, Howells' first release with Avon, was released in December last year, while her second, The Secret, is slated for publication in January 2022.

Frederick said: "Debbie is the queen of creating stories with killer one-line pitches that make it impossible to stop turning the pages. A true delight to work with, I know I speak on behalf of the whole Avon team when I say we couldn’t be more excited to have snapped Debbie up for another of the atmospheric, breathtaking thrillers that she does so brilliantly."

Howells added: "I'm completely thrilled to have another book being published by the brilliant team at Avon. Their creativity and passion for all things book-related make them such a joy to work with."

Debbie Howells is also the author of The Bones of You, The Beauty of the End, The Death of Her and Her Sister’s Lie (all Macmillan).
