Jennifer Saint to write another two books with Wildfire

Ariadne author Jennifer Saint will have another two novels published by Wildfire.

Publishing director Alex Clarke acquired world rights for the books from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment. Caroline Bleeke, senior editor of Flatiron Books in New York, has signed US rights from Headline for the two new novels.

The new contract is for a novel featuring Atalanta, the daughter of the King of Arcadia and the only female Argonaut. The subject of the second novel is yet to be announced.

Saint’s debut, Ariadne, was pre-empted by Wildfire in 2019 as part of a two-book deal. It re-tells the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur from the perspective of Ariadne and her sister Phaedra. Saint’s second book, Elektra, will be published in hardback in April 2022.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have signed two further novels by Jennifer Saint,” Clarke said. “Her first novel, Ariadne, has been one of the shining stars of the year, and we have a real treat for you with Elektra coming in spring 2022. Jennifer is a very special talent, and we’re overjoyed that she’s part of the Wildfire family.”

Saint commented: “I am so happy that Ariadne and Elektra are published by Wildfire and Flatiron, who have been such wonderful champions for them, and I feel very privileged to continue our partnership for two more mythology-inspired novels."

Mushens said of the deal: “In Ariadne, Jennifer Saint showcased her skills as a storyteller, and I think her second book, Elektra, is even stronger. I’m so thrilled that we get two more myth re-tellings from her and am delighted to partner once more with Wildfire and Flatiron.”
