Kiya and Rachel promoted at Mushens Entertainment
Kiya Evans and Rachel Neely have been promoted at Mushens Entertainment. Evans steps up from senior assistant to associate agent, while Neely steps up from associate agent to agent.
Evans will continue to work across Juliet Mushens’ list while growing her own clients, and Neely will be solely focused on building her own roster.
Mushens said: “In the past year both Kiya and Rachel have stepped up and I’m delighted to recognise their hard work and talent with these promotions. Kiya has signed her first two clients, and has excellently care-taken deals during agency maternity leaves, as well as judging the Brick Lane Bookshop prize.
“Rachel’s talent-spotting has continued to reap dividends with a series of six-figure pre-empts and auctions, as well as looking after my own list while I had a baby. They’re incredibly valuable parts of our team and I’m looking forward to seeing them thrive in their new roles.”
Evans said: “I started at Mushens Entertainment as an intern, and have learned so much since then working on Juliet’s incredible list and with our brilliant foreign rights team. I’m excited to continue working closely with Juliet and her trailblazing authors as I build my own list.”
On her promotion, Neely commented: “I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Mushens Entertainment team, working every day with the most inspiring, supportive and passionate colleagues. I’m grateful to Juliet for all she has taught me over the past 18 months and it’s been a real privilege assisting her brilliant clients. I’m very excited for my new role, focusing on growing my list, finding exceptional new voices to join my very talented group of existing authors and helping them find readers across the world.”
The agency is now recruiting a new literary assistant for Mushens, as Evans steps up. More information can be found here.
