Rachel Neely joins Mushens Entertainment as an Associate Agent
Rachel Neely is leaving her editorial role at Trapeze to join Mushens Entertainment as associate agent.
She takes on the new role on 14th February and will be working across company founder’s Juliet Mushens’ client list and building her own list of fiction and non-fiction authors.
Neely began her publishing career with an internship at Avon. She then moved to Quercus as an editorial assistant, working across reading group fiction and the crime and thriller list. In May 2020, she was appointed commissioning editor at Trapeze with a remit of acquiring conversation-starting literary-commercial crossover fiction.
Mushens said: “Rachel was so impressive and strategic in her approach to how she plans to build and develop a client list, as well as showcasing excellent client care and a great insight into the nitty gritty of publishing. She’s going to be such an asset to the team and I’m delighted to be welcoming her to Mushens Entertainment.”
Neely said: “I couldn’t be happier to be joining the brilliant team at Mushens Entertainment. Juliet is the best in the business and the opportunity to learn from her, assisting on the incredible roster of authors that she represents, while also starting to build my own list, was irresistible. I will be looking to represent diverse and unique new voices in a broad range of genres, from reading group fiction and literary fiction, to historical fiction, upmarket women’s fiction, crime and thrillers.”
