Two new Claire Douglas novels to be published in the US by Harper Books

Two new books from Sunday Times-bestselling author Claire Douglas will be published in the US after being acquired by Sarah Stein, Senior Editor at Harper Books, in a six-figure deal.

THE GIRLS WHO DISAPPEARED and YOUR DARKEST FEARS were sold on exclusive submission by Jenny Bent at The Bent Agency, on behalf of Juliet Mushens. Publication for the first novel in the two-book deal is set for 2023. Rights have also sold in Germany and the UK, where the books will be published by Penguin Michael Joseph.

The deal follows after Douglas’ chart and sales success with THE COUPLE AT NO. 9, which was a Sunday Times Bestseller and has sold over 200,000 copies. When pregnant Saffron Cutler moves into 9 Skelton Place with boyfriend Tom and sets about renovations, the last thing she expects is builders uncovering a body. Two bodies, in fact. Forensics indicate the bodies have been buried at least thirty years, which leads the police to question the cottage's former owner - Saffy's grandmother, Rose. Rose's Alzheimer's means her memory is increasingly confused. She can't help the police - but it is clear she remembers something. As Rose's fragmented memories resurface, and the police dig ever deeper, Saffy fears she and the cottage are being watched…
